According to a report in Property Week, Major Ken, Governor of London and Lord of all he surveys recently described property developers as 'some of the most rapacious bastards on the planet'. In a style fizzing with all the humility for which he is famous, he did so at a property conference in front of those same chaps whose parentage and motives he questions.

In a separate discussion on taxing property development, he said he did not care how property was taxed as long as 'I can squeeze the maximum out of any development'.

He's such a charmer.

Bite not the hand that feeds Kenny boy. You have an Olympics to prepare for and you might need to partner with some rapacious bastards to ensure the job is done on time and on budget.

Mark my words, developers have long memories. And a keen eye for a profit.
